Early this week, someone booked us a very nice hotel as a wedding gift. So, we immediately booked the flight and applied leave for it. So that was a good news.
Yesterday, my husband shared another exciting news. He was offered to go to New Zealand. But.. we are not going. Why? Well, the trip is actually during the week we are taking leave. So, his place was replaced by another colleague, who lucky enough not taking leave during that period. Damn it!!!!!!!
It's hot, crowded, noisy and absolute madness! Cows are everywhere - middle of the road, outside the office, construction sites, you name it! And no one dare to honk them! The drivers were like honking to each other but not to the cows. Stupid!
With all the reasons above, I decided to stay home this weekend. Going out means headache and heat and noise and dehydration. Even if this the only chance I got to experience India, so be it. Plus, I'm not planning to get sick so near to my wedding day.
Speaking of wedding, I already settled most of the things before flying to India. Only some minor details left, so mom will take care of those while I'm away. I left the wedding book to her, just incase. Oh yes, I have a wedding book!
Wow, I can't believe it's really going to be a wedding! In 13 days! I'm super excited OK! Just too bad I have to go through this hell, before I can fly home and marry the man I love.
It was the holiday I've been waiting for since forever! It was a perfect timing too, now that I'm done with the dreadful exam! Thank God!
Singapore, as I remembered, was amazing. I love every inch of it.
Although, there were a few unexpected incidents happened during the first few hours of the arrival. We reached Singapore 2 hours earlier, 4am to be exact. So we took a nap until 7am at the lobby of the hotel nearby before heading to our hotel.
We arrived at the hotel at 8, only to find out how filthy the room was. We immediately got online to find cheaper and better rooms that we can get for such short notice. Long story short, after several phone calls, we managed to book rooms for 6 people. The only downside is, we still have to pay half of the room we canceled for.
Since that awful incidents, all we did in Singapore was SHOPPING! We painted the town red until none of us could even walk anymore! We were lucky to arrive on the day they started their Christmas sale. Hence, everything was so affordable even in Singapore dollar, no kidding! And I was more than happy to pay for my first Guess Premium jeans, with 70% off! Shut up!
Only on the very last day, I realized I’ve packed an extra suitcase worth of stuff! But I was having the greatest time there, that what counts right?
I passed most of the paper which allow me to do the final thesis this semester. Alhamdulillah. I might still take some electives to cover those bad marks but as long as I'm doing the thesis this semester, I'm on my way home early next year!
So, summer this year was excellent. We have the last bbq together, we have the last seminar for a week and flew to Dublin for 4 days. Well... it was 3 days actually since we stranded in Stansted for 24 hours. The flight was cancelled last minute due to bomb threat in UK recently. Unexpectedly, we have a lot of fun playing Terminal for a day.
It was all great until the best friend bid farewell and returned home for good on 26th.
My friends kept complaining that I'll only update if they asked me to. It's true though. Frankly, I have lots of things I could tell you but I don't think personal stuff is relevant to be said in public. I know the main reason I was writing this at the first place is to let it all out, when things got out of hand. Or when there was no one I could talk certain matter to, except this dead, silent blog. But things are different now and if you know me better, you should have understood that by now.
Anyway sorry for the opening lines. Sangat poyo!
My holiday was great. Well, nothing's perfect but I had a blast! We covered most of main cities in Italy, ate Italian pizzas, spoke broken Italian and slept in an actual tent in Florance. How so impossible was that? Yeah, I know I would be the first to back out but I didn't. Only for a night though so it wasn't that big a deal. Actually, I've been to Italy before but I guess this one was definitely better. Kudos to Fina, Kamil and Hafiz for being so patient with me throughout the trip.
Venizia was amazing as I remembered. I've kept a list in my head so I won't regret this second chance. Thankfully, I made it all. Except the gondola ride which was still too expensive as there were just four of us at the time, ready for a ride. We stayed 2 nights in Venizia and took express train the next day to Milan.
Milan was pretty plain with tons of expensive boutiques. Of course it would be a great place to visit if you got tons of money to spent. Unfortunately, I don't. Damn! I which I'd be like those Italian chicks with rich husbands and do nothing, but shopping! We went to Pisa on our way to Florence just for that menara condong. It was so funny how we were so not going to take the standard tourist pose at first, but we still shot it anyway. Poyo je! Sampai sana, terus jadi macam orang tak betul!
Spent the least time in Florance since it was raining all day. Yeah, imagine me again at the campsite, this time with raining all night long. Nasib baik la takde katak! Rome was the last stop and might be my favorite place of the week. I missed tonnes, like I've never stepped foot there before. Colosseum was excellent and Vatican City was huge! I wasn't sure the exact name of other places that we've been to but there were bricks all over the place and horse. Yes, I remember that huge horse! Wait... that's in Milan. But one thing you should know, if you plan to go there next time: When Italians tell you it's a 5 minutes walk, what they really meant was half an hour. I couldn't believe that 5 minutes walk to AC Milan stadium (pe ntah nama dia) was actually that far. We walked and walked and only 30 minutes later, found the stadium. And if you got the wrong entrance, you might ended up 'tawaf'ing the whole stadium. For a 30 minutes trip, you definitely deserved more than sekali tawaf. Make it 2 ok.
Ok, now picture time. I've tried not mention him here but since I'm just being a truly honest friend, I credit Hafiz for all the beautiful shots.
Thank you for your time and if I'm available tomorrow, I'll upload them in my fotopages.
Life has been so relaxing lately, that I started to feel a little bit worried. Since returning from my holiday last week, the Boss didn't even bother to call or give me any new task. I've been enjoying this for a while now until I realized that the only work I did for the past few months is the manual transcript. Was that even considered a practical? What the hell am I going to write in my report?
While I'm trying to figure out how to occupy my free time, people kept asking this same question like they even care to know the details. FYI, I'm ignoring any work related question at the moment. No more 'Ko buat pe ha praktikal?' or 'Ko takde keje ke? Lepak je aku tengok'. I didn't even tell my family, so don't even bother to ask me about it. Period.
As holiday ended last week, I was 'welcomed' with another bad news. My participation for the only subject I took this semester was disqualified. I was asked to repeat the subject again due to my absence during the presentation day and my lack of participation. Yeah, like he knew everything! I refused to take any action as it might involve others to prove my statement. BAD idea.
Btw, the holiday was great. London was crazy but in a good way. I went straight to Dublin after that. But I don't like Dublin that much. The guys were nice though. Super great. Fotopages kept crashing lately which slowed down the uploading process. But I'll put everything there soon.
Sorry for the lack of update. I was requested to post a new entry just to prove that I'm still alive. But I'm dead. Inside. Poyo!
Anyway, to Felix bin Agus, terima kasih kerana menceriakan hidupku dengan lawak-lawak spastikmu. Susah-susah je.
The trip was awesome. Thanks to the girls in the pics. Have you heard; 'Whatever happens in Amsterdam, stays in Amsterdam'? No? There you go, you hear it first here! So, no details for this one.
By the way, the rest will be uploaded in Fotopages soon. Or maybe Flickr.
I don't feel like blogging as often as before. Obviously, I have no new stuff to write, plus I'm avoiding any form of personal details or bitching entries in this blog at the moment, even though I really wanted to, believe me!
Anyway, I missed first snow of the season, which kinda like a big deal as I've been waiting for it since last week. My weather widget kept making false reports almost everyday now. At the end of the day, there was nothing! So, no remedy for the heartbroken tonight. Sigh.
As promised, I finally got almost everything done by today. I'm glad to see the result by the way. The piece I put my unconditional, full effort on; the only stuff that made me gelabah all week. So, today no project crap. One more to go.
Next Monday will be the first interview for my 2nd internship. Since I've been waiting for interview call for a while now, I really hope I'll get this one. And it's just across the road. Imagine how easy would it be if I got the job! Wish me luck!
I finally got my mind reactivated after 5 days of holiday. Less that I know, everyone seemed to move forward with their plans since I last heard from them. Some already got jobs for their 2nd practical; while I was just sending my resume a few weeks ago and some have started revising for exam next January; which I obviously haven't begun that part at all. I'm still in holiday mood to be exact. Now that my parents are coming in the next few days, I'm busy booking flights, hotels and planning for their trip, although they will only be here for like 4 days.
And yes, my anxiety is back, ladies and gentlemen. So today, I spent half of the day searching practical places but I only found some. Most companies require advanced knowledge of Java and C++; which I'm currently sucks at. Big time. Since last week, I already got rejected by 5 out of 15 companies. I thought it's practically easy to get job for 2nd internship. But, seeing the results now, I don't think it looks good.
Sigh.
Along with piling of assignment waiting, I don't think I'll be able to gather myself together at the moment. It's hard. I know, I've been saying that for the past 2 freaking years! Yes people, it ain't getting easier! Well, no one thought it's gonna be easy, anyway. I kept promising myself that I'll do everything on time, yet I ended up crashing them all last minute. As it has been my 6th semester already, the anticipation to finish up my Diplom by 2006, even make me feel worse than ever.
And holidays coming up sure be like hell. I have my best friend visiting in the next few weeks but I didn't feel like celebrating at all; even though she's the one I'm looking forward to see for the last 3 months. I'm trying to finish at least one of the projects before this Christmas break but again, I could only try.
The worst part is, I didn't have a gut to tell my parents about everything I went through lately; which in my case, makes it even harder. I've been pretending all this while that everything is fine, but the truth is I feel miserable.
Sigh.
It's not good for my complexion to menggelabah like this, I know.
Look at these happy faces. It did last for a while, like I hoped.
p/s: I crashed some here, the rest will be in fotopages soon.
This was 2 months ago, during the between-life-and-death situation...
But it's all okay now. I scored! So, bless Germany for that. Hopefully there wouldn't be any of this last-chance-repeat paper for next sem and beyond. It was torturing but I learnt my lesson.
So what have I done for the last 2 months? Let see, I returned to Tanah Melayu for only a month, when I scheduled to be there for at least 5 weeks. And just as I was expected to be enjoying a nice family trip to Singapore, my mom got this great news which forced us to cancel the whole trip. I was disappointed but hey, she was excited about the news so there was nothing I could do. I didn't wanna spoil it. I'm happy for her, that's all. But on the bright side, I got to spend the weekend for last min shopping spree. It's been like Christmas all month, I tell ya. I was extremely glad to be home. I really did. And spending money has always been fun until you went home and started to empty your pockets. That's right, nothing! One of those days..
I did watch the AF recaps by the way but it's really old news right now. And of course, movie-of-the-year, Puteri Gunung Ledang. No review from me; you can read it from the experts. Simply marvelous, that's all I can say. To those who slept during the movie, shame on you!
Fyi, I wasn't on the same flight as Anwar as he didn't postpone it til the next day. But anyway, I reached Germany safely. A week later, I visited my best friend in Berlin and now, I'm officially in Heilbronn; counting days before class starts. Not that I'm really counting anyway but really, there was nothing much to do around here.
By the way, Berlin trip was great. Actually better than I expected. It was a 6hr train and Friday was a visit to various historical places; you know castle and stuff. Same goes on Saturday and on Sunday, we have a weird adult talk with Cik Saraya at the embassy which something I less expected to know. On the very last day, there was a window shopping. Well, at least it was supposed to be, until I couldn't face any windows anymore. So really, the budget thingy before this Berlin trip didn't go well as I planned. But hey, I got new stuff to wear this winter. So it wasn't totally wasted.
I have a week to get my mind set for the next big semester and of course the second practical next summer. It's going to be a really busy and boring semester, yet I'm soo looking forward to get up at 8 when it's sure hell freezing outside and the class is up til 6pm! Hah, really not!
It was by far the best 7 days I had this year. Although It did put me into lots of mess to get there, but totally worth it.
I got on the plane Friday morning, reached Rome 1 hr before reuniting with my parents and straight away sightseeing for one whole day. Rome was fascinating but crowded and dirty. There were people everywhere. Mostly tourists, like us. I didn't remember the name of all the buildings and weird sculptures I've been to, but I did stop by at Colosseum for 5 minutes. Well, blame it on Bush for ruining my city tour that day. I couldn't hate that man even more. Masa aku nak jalan Rome la, dia nak jumpa pope. Really, wrong timing. We reached the city center around noon and police escorts were everywhere. We have limited time for certain places and we didn't even get a chance to grab souvenirs. It's all because of that damn Bush! And I kinda blamed our tour guide a bit. I have no idea what made him in rush but really; it was a tiring day especially for my parents and friends who have been on plane from Malaysia for 24 hrs. Really, mercy peeps! That's all I'm asking.
But the next day was better.
Second day. Most of the time on bus, heading to Venice. There were a few stops at old villages of Orvieto. It looked like those classic Disney villages; Cinderella's, Beauty and the Beast's etc. Old yet stunning.
Out of all, Venice was definitely the best. Amazingly beautiful. Trust me, you really wanna go there. Spent one whole day exploring the city and we did watch the glass-made-products demonstration at Murano Glass Factory. Nice... Nope, I didn't ride the gondola. We took boat instead. It was like 40++ degrees that day and as much as I wanted to have an hour of gondola ride, I just have to go with the majority. Anyway, there will always be another time, InsyaAllah.
Next stop, Florence. One of the most beautiful cities in the world. I love Florence. But just one thing, they got lots tons of naked men sculptures there. Not really a good sight. I didn't even dare to take pics with any of those. Freaking weird!
5th day. We headed to Cannes, where we passed by Monaco. The night scene was awesome. And very glamorous. I couldn't stop whooaaaa that night. Most of the houses stand on a panoramic terrace, the casino was damn huge, one of their hotels is said to be the most expensive hotel in Europe and there were luxurious cars everywhere!
It was indeed a great night, even though I didn't win anything .
The last day: I was in Nice. Wasn't as nice as I thought it would be. Nothing special. Just stone beach. Yup, instead of sand beach, theirs are full of stones. And naked chicks.
I took off on Friday with Miss Umie Aida. Yes, she was with me, the entire trip. And I'm not her fan, too bad.
Sorry, I'm not a football fan. But yes, I do lurve those Lisbon ads. Daaaaa, who wouldn't? Basically, this Euro thing doesn't effect my day or sleep at all. When most of you guys stay up to update on who score, who win, fantasy football etc, I'd rather be in Malaysia, with demam Akademi Fantasia. Serius! So let's switch; you come here, i go home, mau?
AF 2. My prediction? Too early to say. I've downloaded the last week performances and so far, my afundi go to Kaer, Zarina and Zahid. Yes sadly, I couldn't vote. But it's good to be home next year, watching those who really deserved, stay in the academy. So, afundi la dengan bijak supaya aku tak keciwa tgk repeat kat channel 15 nanti.
By the way surprisingly, most of them did well; considering they were all first timer. Heh, I thought they gonna screw up big time. No doubt, they're way better than the first batch.
Ok, here's preview for next entry. I'll sort things out by weekend, InsyaAllah.
Ok, I'm signing off for today. And the rest of the week. I'll be on my way to a friend's house in a few hours, stay a night and tomorrow, I'll be flying to Italy, to meet my parents. It's been a crazy couple of days but yeah, I'm really going this time.
Pain, pain and pain.. I had a very bad PMS this morning. I spent the whole day lying on bed and watching tv until I got bored. I tried to sit for like 15 minutes and study but the pain was really killing me. So I stopped. And now I'm writing.
I watched Real World Paris just now and it kinda reminds me of the time I was there a year ago. Wait, wait.. Let's rewind everything.
Paris was a total adventure. I know I had a blast! It was a nice trip but French people weren't as friendly as we thought they would be and they don't speak English. The first day we arrived at the hotel, we were asked to wait for 30 minutes to get our room ready and while waiting, the hotel-maid kept bitching her bossy boss like we understand everything! Stupid, lady! She babbled for like 20 minutes and by the time she finished, I already got a headache. And thing got worse when we were lost. Huhuhh.. me, Fina, Tety and Add spent only 2 days in Paris which was kinda rush. But we managed to visit all the great places in one day; Notre Dame de Paris, Arc de Triomphe, Palais-Royal, Louvre, Pantheon and of course, Eiffel Tower. Too bad none of us got a great zoom or digital camera. Most of the night shots weren't that good. Mine were so bad that I couldn't even see the Eiffel Tower in the background. Well, you couldn't expect a EU50 camera to get magnificent shots, right?
Ok, I'd better stop. I uploaded some pics from my summer trip 2 years ago, so drop by anytime. Have a nice day!
