Life has been better since Wednesday as the silent treatment was finally over. Thank God.
Although, the splurging is still going strong as ever.
Today, we strolled along Jalan Telawi, Bangsar and that place can be like heaven once in a while. Particularly, bila gaji baru masuk! And if you asked me, it's definitely worth every penny. And time. And energy, climbing those stairs. I know... I never ever going to be the best window shopper. EVER.
I've been splurging like there's no tomorrow, this past two months. It didn't occur to me that much, not until I realized I have bought a rack of shoes, totes, tops and pants for less than 8 weeks! Plus, I suddenly crave for my own "Shoe room" as Becky Bloomwood calls it, which something I will work on, no matter what he said.
Today, even without malls, I still managed to do my own window shopping, through internet la, of course. And here goes this year wish list so far:
1. iPod Touch
2. LV Damier Azur Speedy 30 or LV Monogram Mini Lin Croisette Speedy 30
If things aren't getting better by next week, I might be the next workaholic. Hahaha. No lah! Only that things got out of hands lately, which forced me to work extra hours. For instance:
1. I'm officially started doing session this week and pity me, I've got the worst system among all.
2. I was so damn slow that it took me 4 days to finish a session
3. I have PTD assessment last Friday - I took a leave that day
4. I have to study for my exam, which is in 3 weeks time
People told me to slow down but like that's going to help! I CAN'T! I have to speed everything up in order to catch up with others! PRONTO! And although the #4 sounds like as simple as it could be, it's really not. I have exactly 21 days before the certification and if you forget, I work. With recent workloads, I can only reach home around 10 something. So that leave me with 3 weekends. BUT, my dear cousin will be getting married next weekend and next next weekend. So that leave me with 1 weekend. How is that even possible?
I notice that I've been talking less lately, I mean outside the office. And I feel lonely. I guess it is something I need to get used to these days. Zero social life.
Not like I have nothing to talk about - Raya celebration, the new job, the new exciting workplace etc. Did I mention my office is a block away from Pavilion and 10 minutes walk to KLCC? Did I mention I have my first Tony Roma's lunch today? Did I mention that my team already suggested me to teach them German after work? Did I mention that I travel 4 hours forth and back everyday? Yes, EVERY SINGLE DAY! I got tonnes of things to babble on here but so little time. Weekends now are even busier than the weekdays. Open houses, visits from abah's and mak's families and friends. I have to involve in every visits without excuses, like I have no choice. Everyone wants to meet that daughter who just came back from Germany. At one time, I have to repeat the same German stories like 5 times a day. And until today, I couldn't even find time to watch McDreamy yet although the latest season is already in my hard disk since last month. Because I don't have time! And privacy!
That's something I couldn't afford for now, privacy. Living with parents at the age of 26 can sometimes be hard especially when your mom still treat you like a 6 years old girl. I couldn't remember the last time I actually cried my eyes out. Like today when I really wanted to, I couldn't find the better place for it. Pathetic kan?
I wish for bright sunny day tomorrow. I don't think I can hold this tears any longer.
Since last week, my RSS feed was piled up with news either on iPhone or Anya's I'm Not A Plastic Bag releases. I, on the other hand, couldn't get hold of any of it!
I signed up for the bag since May and sadly I was still on the second list. First listers got the bag, which means that second list doesn't. So, I have to queue as early as 6.30 am to grab it! Well technically, I didn't actually queue for it. I planned to by the way, but my boss chose just the right time to send me to RHB, which is on Thursday. It felt wrong taking mc on my second day there, so I begged my sister to go. Unfortunately for her, waiting outside the store for three hours still didn't pay off. Kesian dia. I received the news by noon, when the unlimited bag was already sold out. Haihhh. At least she tried. Rumor has it that people were already there since 4.00 am! I know, CRAZY!!!!
Hopefully, I'll be ready for iPhone next year, which I have no idea when.
I got a job offer in PJ, which I didn't expect and hope to get. For starters, I was interviewed for a different position than the one I applied for. Then, the office is not strategic enough. As I'm still in the process of getting my driving license, my only alternative now is public transport, which from what I heard, is hardly available.
I still attend interviews to get better place, but I doubt there would be any reply anytime soon. Like it or not, I just have to accept that job. The money is good, plus stuff from my list needs to be crossed out ASAP. Like the FCUK bag I was drooling over for months, the MNG skinny jeans, etc. I really need to do this!
By the way, did I mention I'll be dealing with lots and lots of programming? Yes, I realize how impossible that is, but what choice do I have?
After getting things done a few minutes ago, it feels like a huge relief. Bodohnya, crying over small matter! But how could I knew it was that simple then.
Anyway, thank you so much for being such good listeners. Sayang kamu!
I've started job hunting today. So, wish me luck ok!
I recently executed a very nice plan but failed miserably.
After a lot of thinking (nampak sangat aku takde keje), I decided to borrow the BF's money to get the LV bag. It sounds desperate, I know, but come to think of it, I could avoid losing RM2400 in a blink of an eye. So yesterday, I walked him through the "long term" loan plan and as usual, he said yes. But of course the loan comes with a price, la kan. I kinda expected the motivational speech soon after the news and I've prepared myself with explanations incase he needs one. But it's hard to defend myself when I already knew that I was obviously on the wrong side. Come on, clearly I wasn't thinking right here. But, I LOVE the bag! Seriously!
And later, as he started talking about the future, our future, I know I couldn't win anymore. Should I keep hoping?
I didn't expect anything special for my birthday this year. But it turned out great actually. Aside from celebrating my birthday with family and the bf, I also received fabulous handbags and a very delicious Secret Recipe raspberry cheese cake. Terharu sangat! Dan saya sungguh teruja celebrate birthday di Malaysia after 5 years!
Terima kasih semua!
Itu Kamu by Estranged
Hatiku mahu mu Rupamu Masih masih masih masih
Kau terindah Masih ada Yang tercantik Itu kamu
Tiada mengapa taupun sampai bila kerna cinta enggan kenal mengalah Memanah masuk hatiku yang reti Setelah kau nampak tetap ku masih menunjukkan erti hidupku Yang mahu bersama kau buat selamanya
I thought sending the final thesis will be the end of it, but I was so wrong.
I handed in the printed version last Wednesday, but there were so many things to do that I wasn't able to feel the joy of it. Since then, I've been packing everything in boxes in less than 48 hours, settling all the documents regarding my Diplom certificate etc. Even right now, I'm still facing so much of uncertainties that I ended up crying like a mad woman.
I have plan on how to spend my very last week here but looking at my to do list, it's definitely not going to be fun. There is always something needed to be done almost everyday and I have exactly 5 weekdays, you know. And a weekend. Frustnyee!!!
I'm still hoping for my very last shopping this Friday, no matter what!
Ok, here's something you should know. I'm not good at programming and if you ask me what's wrong with your computer, I might stare at the ceiling for a few second, pretending to find the answer and after a long awkward pause, I might just say no.
Am I proud of that? No.
Just now, I have a conversation with a close friend, and she said something that I wish I wouldn't care. I know people has an exciting stuff planned for their final thesis. Programming, experimenting, lab work, designing something that they think would be part of future innovation bla bla bla. But, I did none of that. I basically read about something that was discovered the year I was born, write what I read, elaborate in a way I understand it and then, compare it with another thing that was also discovered decades ago. I know, boring! Logic, logic, logic!! But with JPA's extension time frame and the pressure to finish everything as soon as possible so that I could FINALLY go home for good, I took the job. Besides, the professor is so great and flexible that I can settle everything with just a knock on a door. And the read, write thing is totally harmless as no practical work involved, meaning no failed experiment to be fixed in such short notice or possibility to extend the deadline to redo the whole lab work. And programming related stuff can be avoided. There you go!
Although it wasn't my very first choice, I'm pretty much satisfied with what I've decided on. Up until now.
Unlike everyone, I didn't have any vacation stories to share this time around. The only money left in my account only allows me to go around Stuttgart and Reutlingen. My shopping habit is pretty much slowed down this past few week although there was end-of-year sale everywhere. I only tailed Hafiz around this holiday, shopping for his stuff. We went to outlet, Stuttgart and yet, I didn't buy anything. It's either too crowded or still too expensive. Or better, shopping in Germany isn't really as great as you imagine it would be. Trust me!
Anyway, my holiday was pretty much involving sitting around at Hafiz's or mine, shopping and movies. Instead of finishing the thesis, we pretty much did nothing. So, my holiday was pretty lame as you might put it. But I love it and I had my fun.
So, the bags are finally here. Thanks to Mael for granting my wishes. I'm pretty much satisfied with everything. So happy!!
I'd love to update on my vacationless holiday but I'm pretty much occupied with the thesis for now. I was busy procrastinating last Christmas that I have all the time to watch the movies I missed last year. The Pursuit of Happyness, The Last Kiss, Blood Diamond, Little Miss Sunshine, Step Up, Take the Lead, My Super Ex-Girlfriend, you name it! So now, I'm basically finishing up the second draft, which supposed to be submitted today!
Ok, my 20 minutes break is up. See if I can post something later, but don't hold your breath.
I have no idea what to write. I've been whining too much this past few years that I'm out of things to complain nowadays. That's good, right?
December flew too fast. I guess wasting time all day might be the only reason I felt that way.
Hafiz & co already started talking about shipping stuff back home yet surprisingly, I'm not even excited. I know I've been waiting for this moment since the first year I've been here but now it's 2 months away, I felt like I'm not ready. Weird. Maybe there's too much to look forward to, Diplomarbeit... Hmmm... Well, that's it. Just the Diplomarbeit.
I went to Stuttgart last Monday to accompany Hafiz for his balik Malaysia shopping. I thought I'm going to take time finding stuff for myself too but apparently, shopping for myself is never fun. I have the worst habit when it comes to shopping. I've never made list, I normally have nothing important to buy but end up shopping for the whole year, I always take the longest time in fitting room and I'm so picky. Sometimes I might be going back and forth the same shop, just to pick the right pair of pants. And even if I'm satisfied with the purchase, as soon as I get home, I'll end up regretting it. So when he offered to follow me shopping for something that day, I declined and followed him instead, to buy stuff for his mom. I returned today for another round of shopping but went home empty handed. I know, what a loser!
So psyched for the weekend, the 29th, New Year (Thanks Mael!!!!) and snow. I miss snow!
I wish I wouldn't be too pushy sometimes. It's hard to control the urge when you want something so bad. If I bossed you around lately, I apologize. I really didn't mean to.
Life has been great minus the ulcer under my tongue. And I can't wait til January. But the wait, oh the wait!
I've been in love with this song since the first time I heard it. Hope the movie won't be a letdown. Enjoy the clip!
I passed most of the paper which allow me to do the final thesis this semester. Alhamdulillah. I might still take some electives to cover those bad marks but as long as I'm doing the thesis this semester, I'm on my way home early next year!
So, summer this year was excellent. We have the last bbq together, we have the last seminar for a week and flew to Dublin for 4 days. Well... it was 3 days actually since we stranded in Stansted for 24 hours. The flight was cancelled last minute due to bomb threat in UK recently. Unexpectedly, we have a lot of fun playing Terminal for a day.
It was all great until the best friend bid farewell and returned home for good on 26th.
Last Sunday, I got a piece of news that made me smile all day. I wish I could share it with you but it's just one of those thing I listed as guilty pleasure. So I was just happy. Full stop.
It's hard to catch up on things nowadays as winter means you only have half a day of sunshine. It was snowing heavily today, and temperature is already negative since Monday. This winter is pretty dull since my schedule is pretty much as it is, which didn't allow me to shop for winter clothes as much as before. Plus my money situation isn't that good anyway.
Bad news of the week. I have Algo test next Tuesday and fyi, I have dropped this subject every semester for the past 2 years! Too hard to handle at the time, but lets face it, I couldn't run away forever! So, I'm concentrating on that particular thing at the moment. But it wasn't easy to do that, when I've enjoyed working on my application website since last week. The site is not completely done, which sometimes deprioritized my study plan.
As this few days might be the end of the world, I still hope for a good news. Scoring this first test will be great for a start. I pray hard for that, I do. Otherwise, I have to repeat all the exercises and tests again next semester. It sure be a lot of work, since you already knew how bad my current situation is. Plus one of my teammates is so great, we do well in assignments every week! So it would be a total waste if I couldn't get at least 50% for the tests. But again, it's hard enough to get even one point, so I can only hope for the best.
My mom sure wouldn't read this, but I hope she have a great birthday last week. It was her 50th and I haven't got to celebrate that for 4 years now. I do miss her terribly, I cried just thinking about her. Sedih plak. Speaking of birthdays, last Tuesday I had a false alarm from my ical which caused me a false birthday wish to a very dear friend of mine. It was totally humiliating since I thought hers was in November and I left her this long speech in MSN, explaining for the late birthday wish, as I only wished her a day after the false alarm. I really didn't see that coming, so I made up this stupid excuse, hoping she won't feel bad I forgot her birthday, which obviously I did. Well, you thought iCal is helping enough, think twice! And I blame Hafiz for that wrong profile in my address book!
Signing off for now. Incase I mess up or forget anything, happy birthday to those who celebrate their special day this month. Yes, I'm really a terrible friend!
Pictures from Liza and Weng's Housewarming, click here.
The rest, soon.
I have the most productive evening; window shopping for the fitness and stuff. Yeah right, like I'm ever going to start exercising! Not in million years!
There's nothing much to tell. Life has been great, couldn't complain.
This year, I got the best birthday present ever, a TIGER! And you have no idea how life changing it is. Well, I'm not sure either. Apart from Dashboard and Spotlight, I'm not digging any of the latest stuff included. Automator still looks blur to me; which is a total lost, since it's like the major turnout of the whole Tiger mania. Anyway, you've read about this stuff, don't have to hear it from me.
April was plain but nice. I went back and forth to Reutlingen, 3 weeks in the row. Sampai Fina pun naik muak jumpa aku tetiap minggu! During the first week, I came for the present. The following week was Fina's birthday party and the third time was Liza and Weng's housewarming and Pak Lah came to town. So, that summed up April. One word, fun.
And May was a bit slower, even though summer events were held almost every week. I attended none except football tournament; hoping that Heilbronn would hold the title for 3 straight year. Proudly, they did. So, time and money well spent. Badminton, missed. Rugby, missed. Go kart, missed. And for what I heard, I also missed the best event of the year as I made a last minute decision not to join Open Mic at Gummersbach. Rugi giler! And that would be the end of summer. Almost.
So far, summer turned out great. And I'm looking forward for the next best thing this coming week.
