Mom always laughs at my iPhone's lack of features especially the copy/paste and forwarding sms. She would purposely ask me someone's number and instead of jotting down the number to her phone herself, she requested me to forward la, copy/paste the number la. Not that she didn't know that my iPhone can't do those things!
Yesterday, Apple unveil the best news ever! iPhone will finally has its own copy and paste! And it is not an ordinary cut/paste like most phones OK! It can copy/paste almost everything - phone numbers, text and html too! You can even copy and paste photos OK! If you change your mind, you can shake to undo and shake it again to redo. How freaking awesome is that!!
Besides copy/paste, iPhone OS 3.0 also features forwarding sms and get this, system-wide searching tool namely Spotlight, which allows us to search anything from all the key applications - mail, calendar, iPod. EVERYTHING! Super cool OK!
Although all these features are only available this summer, I so cannot wait to ring mom tomorrow to spill the great news!
I've been splurging like there's no tomorrow, this past two months. It didn't occur to me that much, not until I realized I have bought a rack of shoes, totes, tops and pants for less than 8 weeks! Plus, I suddenly crave for my own "Shoe room" as Becky Bloomwood calls it, which something I will work on, no matter what he said.
Today, even without malls, I still managed to do my own window shopping, through internet la, of course. And here goes this year wish list so far:
1. iPod Touch
2. LV Damier Azur Speedy 30 or LV Monogram Mini Lin Croisette Speedy 30
I got big ulcer in my mouth so all I can do now is write.
I got fever since yesterday. I guess because of the late night sleep I had 2 days in the row. No, nothing really bothered me lately. I just can't sleep! Not sure why. Maybe I'm too excited that I might be getting something I really want next January. Or maybe I get caught talking to someone with similar interest. Or maybe I just couldn't decide if what I want, is really what I want. I only fall asleep after Zuhor and woke up during Maghrib. So exhausting and a bit frustrating, considering I have my weekend planned to finish a project. But things happened sometimes that you just have to let it go. And it wasn't that bad at all. A friend called me up for a quick dinner at his place yesterday. Ahhhh... Makan free! Alhamdulillah...
Anyway, I AM very excited!!!!! About a month from now, I'll be getting something I really, really wish for! Can't wait til that day arrives!
And today, I was surprise to find out that someone is getting a new MacBook. No big deal, right? You wrong. It is a big deal! I hate that someone. He always complains about how Apple sucks, how Mac can't do anything etc etc with his very annoying high pitch voice! He criticizes the way I spent my money for that expensive laptop, which he thinks is no different from the cheaper one. And he's so narrow minded that he believes everything he buys is better than anyone else's. What a load of crap! And now he's actually getting one himself?!? There's no way I'm going to let him have it! Ever!
Ok, I know it sounds ridiculous. But that's how mad I am!!!
I'm starting a wish list of things I want to buy but too impossible for my budget at the moment. This is definitely one of them. One word, G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S!
This is a summary of the unposted entries since last Ramadhan:
- Ramadhan was unexpectedly fun this year as I spent at least twice in Reutlingen for their majlis berbuka puasa. Both times I have my stomach full with delicious and unknown meal that I haven't tried my entire life.
- My schedule is tight this semester as I'm squeezing all subjects I dropped before. No idea if it works but I'll definitely try.
- I received the least amount of card Raya this year. I'm pretty sure people back home keep thinking how many more years exactly they have to spend on airmail posting. So, they gave up. By the way, I don't think Turki calendar is counted as Raya card, even though the thought of it is really sweet. Danke.
- Raya this year was super duper fantastic. I think all Reutlinger agreed with that. They hosted an awesome event as it might be the last Raya for most people, except me. Hmmm sedih...
- About 600 photos were taken during that day alone! Most of them from Topeq's and Elai's new cameras.
- Currently into Radja, a band from Indonesia. For those who haven't heard of them, where have you been?
- A close friend finally got his long waited iMac. I'm soooooo jealous!!!!
- My powerbook is fine now. Alhamdullillah.
- Work has piled up starting this month. And things got worse as my malas mood started to kick in for the past few days. Probably change of weather.
- I recently discovered that I might not be home this winter break due to my study commitment. Double triple shiiitttttttt!!!!
- Another bad news: Rumors has it that Apple will release 15" Intel Powerbook by January! Crap!
To my beloved family and friends who I didn't get a chance to call or meet, Selamat Hari Raya & Maaf Zahir Batin to all of you.
Life without PowerBook is a total mess! I kept thinking about him all the time and it drives me nuts! Pathetic right?
I sent him away for repair last week. It has been 10 days and I'm not even impressed. Urghhhh!!!!! I'm 'Apple'los now, since not only I'm losing him, but also, my iPod is used for backup. So there you go, nothing left to play with. NOTHING.
Hopefully I'll get him back by next week. Otherwise, this mode could be on for a while.
Selamat berpuasa to people back home. I miss you guys!
There's nothing much to tell. Life has been great, couldn't complain.
This year, I got the best birthday present ever, a TIGER! And you have no idea how life changing it is. Well, I'm not sure either. Apart from Dashboard and Spotlight, I'm not digging any of the latest stuff included. Automator still looks blur to me; which is a total lost, since it's like the major turnout of the whole Tiger mania. Anyway, you've read about this stuff, don't have to hear it from me.
April was plain but nice. I went back and forth to Reutlingen, 3 weeks in the row. Sampai Fina pun naik muak jumpa aku tetiap minggu! During the first week, I came for the present. The following week was Fina's birthday party and the third time was Liza and Weng's housewarming and Pak Lah came to town. So, that summed up April. One word, fun.
And May was a bit slower, even though summer events were held almost every week. I attended none except football tournament; hoping that Heilbronn would hold the title for 3 straight year. Proudly, they did. So, time and money well spent. Badminton, missed. Rugby, missed. Go kart, missed. And for what I heard, I also missed the best event of the year as I made a last minute decision not to join Open Mic at Gummersbach. Rugi giler! And that would be the end of summer. Almost.
So far, summer turned out great. And I'm looking forward for the next best thing this coming week.
It's weird working at home. So not like I imagined it would be. Aside from having the pleasure to start at anytime I like, watching 70's show during my break, taking as much break as I want anytime, anywhere and many others, I couldn't help feeling guilty for not managing time accordingly like people in the office usually do. Yeah, talking about that much of freedom! Maybe, it's like a dream come true for now but how if having too much of it, leads to another bigger problem later?
Today, with that tiny guilty, I spent my morning, planning a time management. Well, this fun has to stop sometimes. There are tonnes to be done and of course, submitted before deadlines. And with the contract misunderstanding incident yesterday, I promised myself to do at my very best. Otherwise, it's totally not worth paying me that money.
Maybe this will be the moment; where all the money I invested finally pays off. Now, I don't want to brag you about how wonderful having mac in my life, but I want to do just that! I found OmniOutliner; a simple mac program that just fit my way of working. It helps to list down all the tiny details involved in each project for each week, organize them according to what I want and prepare me on what to do next. Plus, this stuff will come in handy later when I have to write my practical report. I haven't tried out every single fetures available but so far, it serves my need. Easy and very neat. Hope it really works.
After sorting that out, I started working overtime just now to get my first chapter done since I did nothing but surfing for one whole day. I'm done, so tomorrow we'll see how the progress goes.
I got my very own G4 PowerBook a month ago, been playing with it ever since. It's like no other reason to wake up every morning but this. I know it sounds ridiculous but I'm not kidding. It's like the best piece I've ever bought. And the most expensive one, not to mentioned. But really, just by looking at the box the first time, I knew everything is totally worth it; the money spent, the waiting. Everything.
And with it, I've got no reason not to go to Reutlingen that same weekend. It's cool to finally have something to carry around when I was dead bored on the train or nothing to do during my visits. I have every reason to turn this stuff on as it sooo made my day. Yeah, just by turning it on! Can you believe that? Haaa..
After almost a week, I returned home with another stuff to wait, my pending job. I finally made a call after a long desperation. Alhamdulillah, with just a 5 mins talk, I'm now officially an intern in his company for the next 6 months. And that 6 months paychecks will go to Ayin's Europe Trip Fund and Tabung Bencana Shopping Liza. But for now, I'm still broke. Dead broke!
And just last weekend, I went to Reutlingen again; this time I have the pleasure to watch that movie you said was so incredibly great, but surprisingly, seemed like nothing special to me. Yes, of course I'm talking about SEPET! I was so disappointed yet I watched it twice just to make sure I was really right. And I was. Still am. Yes, I was expecting too much considering that most of you said it was so damn good. Sorry, but I blamed you!
PLAY.
What a day! I traveled 2 hours this morning, met up with my boss to settle the contract and discuss my practical project. Yes, today was my official first day at work. Thank God, he was so amazingly kind and now, I have nothing to worry anymore. Hmmm.. not quite. For 26 weeks, I have to work extra hard to make sure the whole project run smoothly and finish according to the time frame given. So yeah, I got tonnes more to worry about.
Since last week, I've been checking my yahoo account like a mad woman. Every single minute. With nothing left to do now, I constantly wander around like a useless moron; keep overloading my head with all the negative stuff instead listing the positive one. I do realize the fact that I have sacrificed my whole holiday, waiting for this job. But really, I couldn't think the better way to resolve it. I was left here alone and I have to make that damn decision asap. And I did. So here I am, waiting. And still waiting, for a very long time.
You know, everything was perfectly fine a month ago. I got a job, I accepted it and I was informed that everything will be on its way by March. Everything was great. And now it ALMOST ruined!! I have nothing; no confirmation, whatsoever! All I have is an email, asking me to wait til everything got settled. I was supposed to get everything confirmed last week. But something came up, messed up everything and I really have no idea what to expect. So, I sit and worried. A lot. Trust me, it wasn't fun at all.
Don't you just hate waiting?
I remember the first thing I wanted to buy since I got my first iPod is iBook. But, for the last 6 months, I've been eyeing the better one instead. It hasn't been my ultimate desire to actually have it at that moment, as money has always been the no. 1 problem. Only this year, I finally decided to purchase one after a lot of arguments and consideration. Plus, as I was SUPPOSED to start working by now, I'm expecting more cash by the end of this March. But now, because of that pending job, I have to think of something else to survive for the next 2 months. Haiyaaa..... Still, no regrets. I'm just counting days as I'll be expecting that fancy black box any day now.
I've officially been swamped with massive amount of works; that might not be important to you, but they are to me. Right now, all I need is a brain check and new look. Hopefully, the next time you see me, I'll be in all brand new. Like this iPod photo. Have you heard? Damn, totally pisses me off! Anyway, I'll be back soon.
I'm currently looking for a buyer for my iPod 4th generation 20gb; which I just purchased last month. Ha, now you could imagine how frustrated I am when Steve job suddenly came up with another great invention that fast. So, interested? Let me know.
By the way, if u dig reality show, sure enough you already addicted to this. I'm loving it, at least for another 2 seasons or so.
Am I just silly or the new iPod is really kickin' ass?
This may sound stupid but suddenly today, I planned to buy the latest version of iPod when I just bought one like 3 months ago. Mine is 2nd generation. The latest in US right now is the 3rd; with more features, lighter and looks good to me too. I bought my iPod from eBay, so it isn't in a very good condition. My mistake! There is streches all over at the back and I wasn't satisfied at all. I didn't expect it to be new, shinny and all. But seriously, if you seen mine, you'll have pity on me. I paid like EU320, which is EU80 less than the latest one! Even though mine completes with bag, remote and iSkin, I still think it wasn't worth at all. I was totally pissed off but there was nothing I could do. I bought iCleaner to remove the streches but still, I'm not happy with the results. I think the cut is too deep to be removed.
I thought it was way cheaper and at that time, I prefer the look of the of 2nd, instead of the 3rd. Since apple already released the new one, the older version was removed from the site. So, I have no choice but to buy it from eBay. Plus, with 10gb of the earlier version, I got more accessories (bag, remote etc). If I buy the latest 10gb, I didn't get those, only the basic things. So, with that reasons, I decided to buy it from ebay. So there u go, padan muka! Yesterday, I checked Amazon.de as usual and this ad came out, advertising the ipod 3rd generation with even lower price. EU379 only. Arghhh!! Tensen!!!
I really want to buy the latest one! But in order to do that, I have to sell mine first in eBay with cheaper price (considering it's not in good condition) and pay a few extra cash to get the new one. Am i seriously gonna do that?
