I watched Cinta last weekend. But in between enjoying the movie and writing this, I watched a Korean movie called Daisy. I missed the good points of Cinta, since Daisy is more memorable and as shameful as it is, made me ball like a baby.
Cinta was expectedly slow but still a good watch. It's definitely not a Yasmin Ahmad movie which made me relish it even more. It was not overdone, simple and in some parts, lovely. I'm not going to review, but if you still have doubt, click
here. And surprisingly, out of the 5 stories, Cikgu Elyas and Makcik Rubiah's story that touched me the most. Although they are the oldest couple, their love story is definitely the fresh one, which I haven't seen in any Malay movie before. I love the fact that they made the "legend" to be Alzheimer and how amusing it is to see Rubiah and his grandson deal with that. My favorite scene in the movie was during Rubiah followed Cikgu Elyas the whole day to find out what he's been up to everyday in his life. They look incredibly sweet, which almost made me in tears in one part of the movie. Let's not talk about that ok. I might cry if I watch it alone, which I will give it a try again this weekend.

But Daisy, oh Daisy. Daisy is a lot better. I cried although I watched it with someone else. It's slow but not dragging, sweet but not the one that make you puke and although it has a tragic end, it's still a perfect ending. I love it. I still couldn't believe I actually cried for this one, rather than Cinta! And I'm not even a fan of any Korean movies, so imagine that!
Anyway, give Cinta a try. You might like it.
