Malay songs

iTunes : Biru - OAG

I'm sooo into this song! Kinda cute.

My iTunes are now packed with Malay songs. VE and Ruffedge's, Exists', Flop Poppy's, Oag's. I kept listening to Ruffedge's and VE's cover for Black Dog Bone's Khayalan all over again and I can even rap with the song at the moment. I can list down all the songs but I just don't think it would be necessary to waste my time than I already am right now.

Lately, macam trend plak for new bands to do the cover version of the oldies'; which to my opinion, turned out to be way better than the original one! It's weird coz most people I know, actually prefer the originals' than the new one. Flop Poppy did the cover version of Alleycats' Bila Kau Bercinta Lagi which is awesome with husky voice of his, VE and Ruffedge teamed up for Khayalan which is my fav song, Ferhad re-did Carefree's Kasih Berubah, Innuendo with Belaian Jiwa, KRU put 2 songs in 1: Perpisahan Terasing which is so great, Indigo with Suraya and many more. And I'm fan of those songs mentioned. They were to me unexpectedly better and nicer than the old one.

Eleh, dulu tak main lagu Melayu, asyik hitz.fm je. I was, I admit just like those jerks who always meng'anaktiri'kan lagu Melayu and used to feel like no Malay songs could ever top songs from Bon Jovi's, Mariah Carey's, Boyz II Men's (just to name a few). And now, look what I've turned into? Lagu Melayu gak among the most played songs.

I guess Sheila on 7 will be the main reason I started listening to Era during my PPP year. I remembered seeing their lead singer, Duta the first time at my friends's house and said, "Sapa mamat hisap dadah ni?". But after listening the first track, Dan, I was hooked. Totally addicted. And guess what, that mamat hisap dadah's band has been my fav band ever since!

Anyway, to those who still think Malay songs like pile of rubbish, why don't you give them a chance. Come on, don't be hypocrite. Kita kan org Melayu.. Kutuk² lagu Melayu pun, balik- balik cari belacan gak, right?
